We cannot pass our local yarn stores which stock ECY without going in to admire the colours and quality in the ECY range. Not to mention being avid Instagram followers. Plus, Fiona was born and bred in Bradford, a city made great on the textile industry and could practically see Yeadon from her birthplace, if she squinted and maybe cocked her head to the side a little, perhaps standing on some tall point like the Cow and Calf with binoculars.
Eden Cottage Yarns are breathlessly the colours of the Yorkshire moors which speckle the outskirts of Bradford and Leeds.
Eden Cottage Yarns is the creation of Victoria Magnus, based in Yeadon, West Yorkshire. It was launched in 2011 in Eden Valley, Cumbria from Victoria's then cottage. Victoria taught herself to knit in 2006 while a student in Dundee. Struggling to find the perfect wool and colours that she wanted to work with, she learned to spin and dye to create her own.
Now based in Yeadon, Eden Cottage Yarns produces some of the best wool the Britain has to offer, which is no mean feat. Carefully sourced, beautifully produced and a dream to work with.
