Mother's Day is just over a week away and not too late to make your mum a special hand-knit keepsake from the heart.
Personally, I'll be getting my mum something knitting-related that she doesn't think exists in this country despite my insisting that it does because I have bought many in the UK. Only I know she reads this blog and that would ruin the surprise. Sorry mum!
Now if you are short of time and your mum knits herself, many of these make great presents in their own right and if you buy a skein of wool from me, I'll pay for your pattern with one of the Derbyshire Dyers listed below.
Pop me a note over as to what yarn you'd like included with this and if you need a special colour dyeing up, I can do that too. This is a really super simple and quick shawl knit designed for us by Louise Tilbrook. It takes one skein of 4ply yarn and we will pack your box out with lots of lovely bonus gifts for that special lady in your life.
Peak District Yarns create some wonderful one skein shawls that are really quick to knit. I know as I bought one for my mum for Christmas and she loves it.
This textured crescent shawl also takes only one skein of yarn. The pattern is inspired by the industrial-heritage of the Peaks which are linked with the textile industry.
This is a really simple and beautiful shawl. I was admiring it at our most recent Derbyshire Dyers meeting (mostly tea drinking and cake eating) and will be looking forward to knitting this up with some beautiful yarn I bought from Greenlambkin at Christmas.
Mitts are the perfect quick-knit for a last minute gift. And if this weather continues are very much needed too. The simple cable looks great with gently variegated yarn too.
