Song of the Sea - August's Pattern

Fiona Brennan

The hypnotic waves design on this cowl by Louise Zass-Bangham is a perfect summer knit. Not only because the motif beautifully captures the movement of the ocean but because it's lightweight 4ply wool lends for more temperate weather.

Louise studied at Central St Martins College of Art and Design before working with some of London's top catwalk designers, leading fashion brands and stylists. Her work of accessories are more than anything else, wearable. They can be adapted to most stylists and adapt across the changing fashion seasons. We love the flexibility of Louise's designs and the many outfits with which they would work.

You can often see Louise's designs pop up on Ravelry's hot list and she has her first book, Knit Play Colour out. Song of the Sea is one of Louise's most popular patterns and it is no mystery as to why.

This pattern was the ideal match for this month's yarn: Vivacious by Fyberspates.

You can access Louise's Ravelry page here and her website, Inspiration Knits here.
